About Ann

I’m an autistic coach based in the UK. I am delighted to be able to bring my coaching skills to Thriving Autistic to support others who arrive late at their autistic identity.

Just two months before my 70th birthday in 2021, I finally received confirmation of my Autism through Adult Autism Ireland. I am now proud and relieved to identify as autistic, and glad to begin to understand why, despite a successful career and loving relationships, I had often struggled, and sometimes felt like an outsider.

Through Thriving Autistic, I focus mostly on Post-Diagnostic Support Sessions (PDSS) for newly identified older people like myself, referred via Thriving Autistic. I also offer a small number of Zoom coaching slots for clients in the UK.

Experience and qualifications.

I’ve been a coach since 2003, specialising in leadership, especially what I call quiet leadership, and recovery from workplace bullying, which I experienced early in my career. I worked with managers and professionals in the public, not-for-profit and private sectors, both individually and through organisational development support.

In 2010, I published a self-coaching book for clients and others who needed a path to recovery from workplace bullying. Before I became a coach, I was an HR professional, largely in the not-for-profit sector. I “retired” at the end of 2016, after a spell of burnout following the deaths of my parents, but I missed coaching, and am so pleased to be back.

I hold a Diploma in Advanced Executive Coaching from the Academy of Executive Coaching (AoEC) in the UK, a coaching qualification with distinction from the Coaching Academy, a BA (Hons) in Sociology from the University of Sussex, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) from the University of Brighton. I’m a member of the Association for Coaching.

Availability: I am currently available on Friday mornings.
