A joyful and supportive group for Autistic adults wanting to explore their LGBTQIA+ identity. Do you think you might be LGBTQIA+? Would you like to explore your identity in a supportive and non-judgmental space with other Autistic adults?
Join us for Illuminate! Each week, we will cover a different theme, allowing us plenty of space for discussion and curiosity. If you’re keen to learn more about yourself, build community and imagine your best queer life, then this is the space for you!
The fortnightly sessions, lasting 90 mins (with a short break), will be held on Zoom and facilitated by Gem Kennedy.
Schedule: Tuesdays 7 - 8.30 pm UK time: 28th February, 14th March, 28th March, 11th April 2023
Location: Zoom Online
Bursaries available: If you’d like to join us but this is unaffordable to you, please drop an email to email@example.com. It’s really important to Gem that this work is accessible to everyone!
Welcome to Illuminate! Let’s get to know each other and share some of our stories so far. We’ll discuss the realisations we’ve had, the identities that feel good to us, and how that might have evolved over time, as well as what we’d still like to explore.
Being LGBTQIA+ is way more fun together. This week, we’ll discuss how we can access the LGBTQIA+ community. And dream up how we’d love it to look! If it doesn’t already exist, what could we create?
Everyone needs more queer joy! A celebratory week, sharing inspo and what lights us up. (Optional: You might like to create something to share in the final session - a poem, a song, a piece of music, a drawing, a letter to your self, or anything else you'd like! There's absolutely no pressure to do this though!)
In the final week, we’ll share strength and hope, looking at how we live our lives in a way that celebrates our LGBTQIA+ identity and thinking about next steps.
