After a long and rewarding two-decade career in two UK police services, I retrained as a professional coach in 2017, completed an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology in 2019 and took the challenging decision to leave my career to become a full-time caregiver for an elderly relative.
Despite my professional and personal achievements, I knew that I ‘thought differently’ to my friends and peers. However, I wasn’t formally diagnosed as being neurodivergent (ND) until 2018. When I was at school (which was a long time ago!), neurodiversity wasn’t something teachers even considered, although it had been known about for many years. So, this diagnosis, which includes ADD, Dyslexia and Dyscalculia was a bit of ’Arh, that explains it’ moment for me. It doesn’t define who I am, in fact, it has helped to inform one pathway of my coaching journey, as an ND coach.
I am proud to be working with Thriving Autistic as an Associate Coach and I hope to have the opportunity of meeting you in the future.
Specialisation: ADD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and unpaid carers.
